  • Hi David,

    Yep, but a little tricky.

    a.  upgrade sql to 2005 and latest sp

    b.  install crm 4 which will upgrade

    c.  install latest crm 4 update roll up.

Be sure to have a very good backup of your environment.  If the crm 3 to 4 upgrade is not successfully there is NO rollback -- you need to restore from a backup.  There are various small gotchas that can happen during the crm 3 to 4 upgrade -- nothing major and most of the issues you can google and find the fix.  However, this could cause you to have to restore the 3.0 environment.

  • I believe so. During installation of the upgrade, enter a CRM 4.0 Enterprise 25-character code.

If you can duplicate your CRM 3.0 Small Business system you can test this with a CRM 4.0 trial key from here:  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a9c110fd-aac8-4d2a-b401-7801b1866e82&displaylang=en

  • David,

A big possible hitch is that you probably are running 3.0 SBE on SQL2000?

If so you will need upgrade to SQL 2005 first.

This would be typical if you were running SBE on SBS 2003.
