  • Hi

Can anyone help? I bought a PC with windows XP Media centre installed. I later had some other probs with PC and got a local guy to resolve them. He thought he was doing me a favour when he deleted my version of XP & installed XP Pro which he said would stop me having as many probs because it's more robust. Turns out the one he installed isn't genuine & now I can not get updates. I can't get the 'faker' to come & resolve the problem so is there any way I can delete the non genuine XP Pro & reinstall my genuine one? I have the COA number. If any one has any ideas I would be very grateful.

  • In order to use the Windows XP Media Center license, a "clean install" would be required.  You would need to contact the manufacturer of your PC and request their Windows XP Media Center recovery, restore or reinstallation CD.
