Win 10 tries to update to an older build about once every 2 days.

Question
-
I have Win 10 Pro : build 10240 - according to "About Windows".
I keep getting an attempt to "update" to 10158 and of course, it fails.
All I end up doing is restarting windows with no actual updates taking place.
1.) How do I verify I have a complete and valid build 10240, other than checking "About Windows"?
2.) Could I be stuck between updates?
3.) If I have a valid build 10240 and all is well, how do I stop the update madness?
thanks in advance
