System Jobs - Workflow expansion task issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running into a strange issue with the System Job - Workflow expansion task.

The problem is when the workflow is run (by CRM system) it changes the ownership of the person assign to an opportunity. The person that get assign to opportunity is the person assign to the account.

What I need is this system job it stop running because I can't have the system changing my owners to some who did not create the opportunity.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

  • That's probably accurate -

If the account is re-assigned, by default that re-assignment is inherited by the opportunities (and other objects) - but you can control that by changing the relationship configuration -

In Customizations, open the Account enttity and choose the "1:N Relationships" and find the Opportunity_primary_accounts relationship / Change the "Relationship Behavior" from Parental (default) to "Configurable Cascading" - the 'Assign' attribute can then be changed to 'Cascade none' -

Save/publish the change and the re-assignment of an account will no longer re-assign the associated opportunities.

  •  Steven - do you have workflows that re-assign opportunities based on criteria? -

I'm thinking that you have a workflow being fired unintentionally - the workflow expansion is the result of that workflow firing, rather than the cause of the reassignment itself.

  • I have no workflows that are changing the opportunity's.

One suggestion that was given to me was a mapping issue between the account and opportunity.
