Lock/Unlock download from remote web site RRS feed

Hi all, as I'm not very good at coding, I would suggest a feature that would be greatly useful for me: the possibility to offer or block the download feature for a share folder from the remote web site. To better explain the wished feature here is an example: I'm sharing the "Videos" folder in the remote site and have created a few user accounts for my friends and family to see my latest movies (personal and ripped DVDs I bought). I did that just for them to see my latest movies and to call me if they want one, but...of course they are directly downloading without asking me and it therefore uses my whole bandwith !!

    Thank you for your feedback

  • No need. Just turn off remote access for the user or users you created so your friends will no longer be able to log in.

  • Sorry, I have badly explained what I'm looking for.

I would like to have the option for the users to "see" what is in the shared folder "Video" but not download the files.

In other words, to list the content of the shared folder but disable the links and the "download" button to the files.

as Ken said, there is really no point. Why would you give someone a remote access account just so they could browse your shared. In your mentioned case (and i could see no other example that would need this capability) why couldnt you just tell them what you have. Unless you're spreading this "list" to many people. You could also just create another website lets say, perhaps using Whiist where you can just manually type in the titles.

Also try to remember whatever legal implications may apply to you in regard to video/movie sharing.
