  • I discovered the answer on my own when I went through TFS to create the VM and tried to install the integration services ... it popped up a message stating that HOME and STARTER editions cannot be used ... didn't even realize it wasn't the business edition (which is on the CD) being installed ... instead of entering a key at the beginning I forced it go through without and it prompted me for which edition I wanted ... everything worked from there.  Thanks for asking and the follow up ...
