When ever i send an email message to an external contact from the exchange 2007 global address list the email is being converted plain text. I have narrowed it down to the exchange GAL being the problem because when i send the same email but use the contact from my outlook contacts it sends as its meant to.
I have tried forcing RTF on the contact, this did not work!
Now if it was just users sending emails it would not concern me but the external contacts are staff employed by a company whom we recently purchased! The staff at my organisation need to send meeting requests to each other. Now here lies the problem, because the email are being converted to plain text, the meeting requests are loosing their formating and as such are missing the accept, decline and tentative buttons.
I know there are better solutions(consolidate domains bring them into our AD etc...) but as it is at the moment we are stuck sending emails to their domain.
I guess the question is where can i find what is causing the external contacts mail being converted to plain text?
