Windows Update Hangs in Vista RRS feed

    I keep trying to submit a support request because my Windows Update hangs while "Checking for Updates"... but the website keeps returning "An unknown application error occurred. Please try again in a few minutes."

     

    When will this be fixed?

    The question was for Vista but the link you included doesn't list Vista as one of the Windows versions the remedies will address. Still applicable?  I have the same problem on a Sony Vaio laptop running Vista business.
