Can I give a user access to a subfolder only? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any way for me to invite a user to a subfolder only so he/she can only view/edit the files in the subfolder? I don't want the user to see or have access to any other files or folders.

    Thanks.

  • No, you can only invite someone to share the entire Live Mesh folder and everything within.
Since you can't set up a top level folder as a Live Mesh folder and then a sub-folder as a different Live Mesh folder, you'll need to move the sub-folder out of the branch to be a new top level folder and a unique Live Mesh folder that you can then invite someone to that folder.

  • Is this by design?

I searched the wish list and didn't see anyone request this feature.

I guess you can call it by design. I don't know what the thinking is or if there's a technical limitation to having it be possible, but you can certainly submit feedback on Connect for this wish if you don't see it posted already by someone else. Searching for items on Connect can be tricky, so finding a match to what you are asking for may be tough. New feedback is perfectly acceptable. :-)
