Windows 7 Validation Issues Build 7601

Question
-
I have been using this desktop machine (running windows 7 ultimate) for years and I suddenly get a Windows 7 build 7601 not genuine problem.
I am adding a little bit of history before posting the MDAG tool report. I had sit this machine as a dual boot (Ubuntu Windows) machine. Right before the holidays I decided to uninstall Ubuntu and I apparently did it the wrong way and had to create a Windows Recovery Disk to get Windows to boot back. All was well till I got back to this machine after the holidays and saw the Build 7601 issue.
I have pasted the MGAD report below. Please resolve.

Unfortunately, the installed OEM SLP copy of Windows 7 Ultimate is counterfeit. You will need to acquire a genuine "Full Retail Version" of Windows 7 and perform a "clean install".
Example: Windows 7 Professional

I had purchased this machine off of Craig's List so it is definitely a possibility (and it seems to be a machine that was custom built at home). I do have other software like Microsoft Word that I personally purchased. How would a a reinstall affect these software.
Thanks for the prompt reply

I had purchased a Win 7 Pro license that was installed on another machine that I have. I have retired that machine, so, would it be possible to transfer that license to another machine. If so what is the process.

Assuming you have a full retail Windows 7 license, you would boot from the Windows 7 DVD and during setup, delete the current hard drive partition, create a new partition, then proceed to install Windows 7.Carey Frisch
