installation problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed for the free trial and had to remove it because it was slowing my pc down. I have 256 memory. I have spyware doctor and another anti-spyware that was installed by a microsoft tech. I would from time to time get a message from onecare saying that onecare was not working and to restart pc or visit help center, was wondering if it was properly installed also.

  • I would recommend uninstalling all other antispyware programs. If after uninstalling the other programs One Care stilldoes not function properly uninstall One care, run the cleanup tool - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2  , then reinstall One Care.

  • Note also that you have the minimum recommended memory for OneCare to run, and if you are using on-board video, it is using some of that memory. If it is possible to upgrade the memory in your computer, I would recommend that you do so as your overall experience with the computer will be much improved.
