Bulk Delete Feature Unavailable RRS feed

    Hi there,

     

    I am currently trying to  delete all records that I recently imported into the crm. I have followed walkthroughs found on the net such as http://community.dynamics.com/blogs/cscrmteam/archive/2008/04/24/bulk-record-deletion-in-microsoft-crm-online.aspx . What I am having difficulty with is the fact that "Delete Imported Records" that is supposed to be listed under "More Actions..." menu is not present. Likewise other references to Bulk Deletion are also not present. Funny enough though under Settings -> Data Management I can find the Bulk Deletion section but I cannot create any Bulk delete jobs from there anyway.

     

    Can someone please try to explain to me why this is so. I have checked on the internet but have not found anyone with such an issue. Did something go wrong during implementation? Is there a way to find out?\

  • Unfortunately this feature is only available in CRM Online (that I know of).  To do bulk deletion in CRM 4 On Premise, you will have to write code.  See the following blog post by the CRM Team that speaks to this regarding AsyncOperationBase: https://community.dynamics.com/blogs/crmteam/archive/2008/07/29/managing-size-of-asyncoperationbase-table-in-crm-4-0.aspx

  • I am not sure how many records you created but you can delete them 250 at a time by opening the import job and selecting the records created by page on the grid display.

     

    With regard to Bulk Deletion, those jobs are created when you use the Data Migration manager to delete a migration or by using methods described in the SDK.
