  • I am trying to install net framework version 4.6.2

I downloaded it from microsofts site

It is not a beta version 4.6.2 offline installer

I currently don't have any .net framework patches installed

Hello I am currently trying to install .net and i am getting an error that simply says

Setup may not run properly, because the Windows Modules Installer Service is not available on this computer.

Now i know this means that windows modules installer the service under services.msc is not functioning well i look under my services and windows modules installer server is not listed for some reason this may have something to do with updating from 8.0 to 8.1 but im not sure it should be listed

  • Hi friend,

    Welcome to MSDN forum.

According to your description, this issue about the Windows modules installer is more related to the OS, as far as I know, this service should be shipped with OS installation, please raise this issue on this forum: for dedicated information.

You can try to run the command: sfc /scannow in the elevated command prompt and scan all the required system file and repair it.

    Best regards,
