  • Why doesn't S&T 2011 recognize a Garmin zumo 450, or any GPS,  when plugged into a USB port? The message says it needs to be plugged into a COM port. Most new computers, including mine, don't have COM ports, at least to my limited knowledge. Can someone help. Thanks.

  • Hi T Shader,

The USB GPS receiver Microsoft includes with the product uses a software driver that creates a virtual com port. The same is true for other USB GPS receivers compatible with Streets & Trips.

USB GPS receivers can be purchased for around $40, and perhaps even for less if purchased bundled with Streets & Trips.
