Integration between lab environment and prod. env. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are willing to establish connectivity between our internal lab environment and the production environment of OCS. In this case, that means 2 separate AD forrests, that are not communicating to each other in any way. Installing an edge server inside our corporate network wouldnt make a sense just for communicating with the production system (and even no sense, as the external side of the prod. edge cannot be contacted from the internal network, where the lab edge would sit)

So, in the scenario, you will want to put your Lab Edge in the DMZ as well.  Doing this will allow you to Federate your production OCS and your Lab OCS deployments.

Where I work, we have 2 seperate SIP Namespaces that use completely seperate infrastructures (LCS & OCS) and we do exactly what you are describing.  Some specific routing entries on the Edge servers were required, but the internal Federation works as designed & without issue.
