ALL Built-in Dashboard Add-ins (other than Home) fail to load RRS feed

  • Question

  • Finally retiring my old WHS v1 server, I'm trying to migrate to the WHS2011 server I bought back then, knowing this day would come eventually. Until now, it's only been a repository for local backups.

The problem is, when I opened the WHS2011 Dashboard, I had to Disable every Add-in (otherwise, the Dashboard would not start).

I looked in all the folders under C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\Addins ... Each folder only had its respective *.addin file, e.g. users.addin in the Users folder. Since checking those folders was the only possible solution I found here, I'm stuck.

The Error in the Event Viewer says:

Faulting application name: Dashboard.exe, version: 6.1.8800.16400, time stamp: 0x50949467
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.23543, time stamp: 0x57d2fe27
    Exception code: 0xe0434352
    Fault offset: 0x000000000001a06d
    Faulting process id: 0x21ac
    Faulting application start time: 0x01d2c760e4d84781
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\Dashboard.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll
    Report Id: 34a8a861-3354-11e7-9884-e4115b138614"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

According to your description, my understanding is that Dashboard on WHS 2011 can only be open when add-ins are disabled(except for Home).

If this is an physical device, please make sure that hardware driver is up to date, and has the version which is applied to WHS 2011 installed.

Besides, try to run “sfc /scannow” to check/repair system files. have you tried to confirm the add-ins one by one to check the result?

Also, please check article “SBS 2011: Repair Certificate Issues” to confirm the certificate:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/3940.sbs-2011-repair-certificate-issues.aspx

If the problem persists, please provide me the “Dashboard.log” file which is located at “%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs”.

    Best Regards,
