Hello, I've installed Mesh and have tried remote desktop feature just nicely but I am having issues syncing files with live mesh.
I have a Desktop running XP, and a laptop running Vista.
I want to share a folder for example from my Vista machine which is located My Docs> FOLDER I WANT TO SYNC
Now I have a folder with the same name on my XP machine located in the same place My Docs >FOLDER I WANT TO SYNC
Now here is where it gets tricky and please let me know if I am understanding this wrong. I thought that if we had a folder on pc 1 and a folder on pc 2 that we want to always have the same files we can add each folder to live mesh and have them synced.
But instead when I add folder from pc 1, it syncs it to pc 2 but does not match up with the same folder in pc 2, it instead places a folder on my desktop of pc 2, and the folder from pc 2 My Docs is added to pc 1 but on pc 1's desktop as well.
Is there a way to get folder from pc 1 My Docs > FOLDER I WANT TO SYNC to actually sink in pc 2 MY DOCS>FOLDER I WANT TO SYNC?
I hope I am making sense. I just dont wanna a lot of folders sitting on either of my pc's desktops.
Ok for anyone else who might be a dork like myself, I figured out what I was doing wrong.
I do not need to add both folders.
Add folder from pc 1 then go to pc 2 and you'll be able to see the folder from pc 1 from within your online Live Desktop and little controller by the clock. Choose where you want to share that and navigate to the place on pc 2 you want the contects from pc 1 to move to. What I was doing was trying to merge two folders but adding them seperatly when I should have only dealt with 1 folder.
