AuditBase & Plugins (CRM 2011) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to trigger a plugin when an AuditBase record is being created? Since there are no filtered views, advanced finds, etc on Audits I need to somehow create custom entities with this same information. SPs don't work for online versions so I hope something can be done through plugins. Though I suspect plugins only work on filtered views also.

  • Hello,

No, you can't do that, but you should be able to get required audit information from audit entity only

  • Mahender,

I did look at both of those posts and others before. However, all of them are based on SPs which won't work for online deployments. I guess I will end up writing my own auditing functions as I only need to track a few entities with a few dozen fields.

Do you happen to know if this situation has changed for CRM 2013?

  • Ohh, I missed online. In case of online there won't be any option but you could try to older approch (used before ms crm 2011) and write your own plugin, here is the reference for old audit plugin.
