  • Hello BrBelz,

Even though you didn't provide a description of the issue, I see, what I assume, is the problem.

When installing Vista, the user is asked to enter a Valid Product Key. If the user does not enter a key, it is called a "Keyless Install" and Vista uses it's own default Product Key (for the Version of Vista the user selected).  The purpose of being able to install Vista without a Valid Product key is so the user can get a 30 day evaluation period.  Once the evaluation period has expired, the user must enter a Valid Product Key to continue to use Vista.

Your Diagnostic Report shows that your Vista was installed without a Valid Product Key.  The Product Key shown in your Diagnostic Report is the Default 'Keyless Install' Key used when no valid product key is entered at install. Below are the last 5 digits of the other Keyless Install keys.

    Default "Keyless Install" Product Keys
    • Business - MRW4W
    • BusinessN - QXX44
    • HomeBasic - 3V4VD
    • HomeBasicN - GFJBT
    • HomePremium - 76PKF
    • Ultimate - RP8F7

To resolve your issue, you will need to enter the Product Key that came with your copy of Vista. You can do that by clicking the 'Start' button, rightclick 'Computer' and select 'Properties'.  A window will come up, click on "Change Product Key" at the lower right of that window and follow the directions in the Change Product Key Wizard.

    Thank you,
    Darin MS

  • Hello BrBelz,

Even though you didn't provide a description of the issue, I see, what I assume, is the problem.

    • HomeBasic - 3V4VD
    • HomeBasicN - GFJBT

To resolve your issue, you will need to enter the Product Key that came with your copy of Vista. You can do that by clicking the 'Start' button, rightclick 'Computer' and select 'Properties'.  A window will come up, click on "Change Product Key" at the lower right of that window and follow the directions in the Change Product Key Wizard.
