Synch Framework Batching Directory Not Deleted RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have problem with the batch files that are getting created on the server..

The batch files are not getting cleaned up on the server and its eating up huge memory and sometime the system crashes because of this.

What may be the reason for this? When does the Synch framework leave the batch files without deleting ?

What steps needs to be taken to delete the file if its not deleted by Synch framework?

  • Its under c:\windows\temp and this folder has all the necessary permissions.

How to set the batching directory path to any other location?

  • Batching directory can be set on the provider. (RelationalSyncProvider.BatchingDirectory) Please refer to the link below http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd918908.aspx http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mahjayar/archive/2009/11/16/msf-v2-deepdive-batching-directory-and-batch-files.aspx thanks Jandeep

  • If  sync session is interrupted, the batching files wouldn't be deleted. This may be the cause.
