Windows Live Onecare won't start/work/anything

Question
-
Okay, so I'm not really sure what to do next. I've gone through and tried to do all the stuff that the help menu tells me to do....searching for/using services won't work, so I can't start them automatically or manually. I'm getting REALLY frustrated. Is this just a onecare issue, or am I going to have to totally overhaul my entire computer??
Oh, and I don't even have a disc to re-install...I did my download online, so what do I do now?Wednesday, August 6, 2008 5:51 PM

If the cleanup tool is not responding, then I suspect a .Net Framework problem.
Try the following:
To repair .Net Framework 2.0 on XP:
Open Control Panel
Select Add or Remove Programs
Locate Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0
Select the entry and when the installer launches, select Repair.
Reboot when it completes.
Alternatively, see this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306160
To remove a corrupt .Net Framework install, use this tool:
http://astebner.sts.winisp.net/Tools/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
The download of .Net Framework 2.0 can be found here:
To repair .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.0 on Vista, see this blog entry:
If the above does not resolve the problem with OneCare, please contact support:

Did OneCare work before? Did something change before OneCare then stopped working?
You can use the cleanup tool to remove all traces of OneCare -
http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=828910&SiteID=2
And then reinstall from http://onecare.live.com - activating (subscribing) using the *same* LiveID used to originally subscribe.
