restore the backup from the database with the sql server management server to the sql server ad than use the deployment manager to import the restored Database in crm as a new organiation.

  • Hi Zosimo,

install the CRM Server with a CRM name, you don't wat to use, maybe demo.
Restore yout old CRM Database to your SQL Server
Use the Redeployment Manager to import the old organisation

  • install crm with rollups
    create new DB,website etc.
Restore only your old _mscrm db to sql
use deployment manager and import old org.

  • The only thing I would add to this is hopefully you save off your customization file and any other custom code associated with the previous CRM install and you will want to restore that as well. You restore the customization file by going to Settings, Customization, Import Customizations.

  • The correct way of doing this would be to:

    1. Install CRM and create a new organization
    2. Restore your SQL backup using SQL management studio - http://www.sqlteam.com/article/backup-and-restore-in-sql-server-full-backups
    3. Start the CRM deployment manager > organizations > Click 'Import Organization'
    4. Choose the SQL server and database, re-map users then input the report server url and click Import
    5. Check if all is working..
    6. Apply rollup packs - http://mscrmblog.net/2009/07/09/microsoft-dynamics-crm-40-update-rollup-packs/
