  • The forums I moderate are being hit with spam daily by what appears to be the same person using a new Windows Live ID every day. The posts are always in the same format and surprising that it is not picked up automatically. Every day the title of the post is along the lines of this "Watch [Movie Title] Online". The body of the message has a line of two of text followed by 5 or more links. The links are rendered as text because new accounts can't post clickable links. These types of messages should be easy to identify using a simple regular expression. Simply use a regular expression for a URL against the body of the post and count the number of URL's in the post. If the user is new and their are more than a say 4 or 5 links then flag the post or simply remove the content of the post.

If you look at the deleted posts in my forums you will see the spam posts: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=bingmaps&filter=alltypes%2Cdeleted&sort=lastpostdesc
