How To: Search within my forum posts? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to search only within my forum posts? I have already asked and been answered a particular question. However, now that I have hundreds of posts, it isn't very easy to look through them to find the right one. This may be possible, I just don't know how.

For example, can I enter search terms like this:

    "bind to an enumeration user:BBauer42"

This way it would only return enum binding threads that I have created or responded to. Thanks.

  • Hi,

you can check out this thread about searching the forum. Please keep in mind that you won`t get always all results like it should be, because the search isn`t working for 100%.

As a sample, you can use the searchbox on the very top of this page ("Search MSDN with Bing") and type/copy the following:

    meta:Search.MSForums.ThreadContributorUserName(BBauer42)

this will get the threads where you have participated

If you have got questions about this, just ask.

    In a perfect world,
users would never enter data in the wrong form,
files they choose to open would always exist
and code would never have bugs.
