Is Microsoft killing these forums?

Question
-
MSDN and Technet forums are no longer easily accessible from the new MSDN portal (docs).
What goes on? Are they replacing these forums with "Q&A" https://docs.microsoft.com/answers ?
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com ?
IMHO yet another silly still-born "innovation", waste of electrons.

This blog post details the plans for the forums:

There are also plans, discussed in the blog post, to replace the TechNet Wiki and script Gallery.
