I want to make an answer file for reinstall RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know the OEM's can do it, now I want to do it too.

A few years ago I embarked on slipstreaming an install of Win XP with service packs and an answer file. Honestly I don't remember if I ever got it to work or not, but I like to play with computers so I want to try again.

Does anyone know of a link or even a FAQ that can help me create a server reinstall CD\DVD with an answer file for my home server?  I want to be able to put the CD in the server, turn it on, and walk away. then come back a few hours later to my server sitting there purring away happily.  I'm sure I can find a writeup for Server 2003, but that answer file wouldn't really be the same as home server, would it?

    Thanks

  • If you bought a "system builder" package, you should have a disk labeled "OEM Preinstallation Kit". Read the documentation is includes and it should tell you what you can customize and how.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
