  • This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers

try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

    (you want the iata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

  • It has actually solved the major problem - we just need to do some tidying up....

    please try the following.....

Recreate the Licensing Store with the correct data.

    1) Open an Internet Browser window.

    2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.

    3) Find the file CMD.exe

    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'

    5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)

    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing

    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar

    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32

    9) Type: net start slsvc

    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)

    11) Restart your computer twice.

You may be asked to enter your COA Key and/or Activate. – if asked for the Key, use the one on your COA sticker on the machine’s case (you may need to activate by telephone).

Once complete, run another MGADiag report and post back with the results.

  • I have been asked to activate since the problam appeared. But it has been 6 years since i upgraded from xp to vista and i cant find the Key. All i have is the upgrade disk. The product key for my XP is on the computer box alright but its for the XP i had. I got vista as a free upgrade when it came out as a part of the purchase deal. My pc is having problams starting up lately probaly due to corrupted files due to the old hard drive failing (hence the new HDD). I may need to do a reinstal of vista but without the key i fear it will end up that i cant activate and cant download updates... :(

  • You should be able to retrieve the Key using Belarc Advisor - www.belarc.com - for safe-keeping :)

Once you do have it, I would suggest a repair install is possibly your best option - see here for a good set of instructions...

    http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html

    Good luck!
