Plugin code built with early bound needs change after IFD. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We have a problem in which we have a non-ifd crm 2011 RU 11 system, which has a lot of plugin's built using the early bound programming style.

Now the customer wants to go IFD / Claims Based enabled?

We have a test system where in the IFD has been enabled and the plugin's are not working as expected?

Do we need to build the xrm library with the latest https url and rebuild all the plugin's again?

Please advice. Any documentation/website/blogs you can point me to will be helpful as well.

    Many Thanks.

  • Are you getting an error?  I had to troubleshoot an SPN issue after moving the Org Service.  Enabling IFD is similar because you'll need t change the URLs in the Deployment Manager and that can cause SPN issues.

  • HI Chris,

Thanks for the reply, No error on the front end as such but the actions are missing. The SPN's are added for the CRM app pool account, I will check the reg key but sandbox don't appear to be the case as the plugin's are all registered as a 'None' isolation mode, do I still need to have this port open anyway?

    Many Thanks.

  • Hi,

Have you tried to just do something in the code to see if the plugin code is running at all? Throw an exception or write to disk are my two favourites if I can't step-debug the plugin.

  • Hi Richard,

I did not change the current plugin's but registered the SDk sample plugin to see if it fires. Found that it did. I will try and include some exception in the current plugins and see if it is firing.
