modify robots.txt file RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to run the SEO tools on a test site on my WHS2011 but the SEO tools are complaining about the root level robot.txt.  So I decided to change it but can't, the only thing that has permission to modify the file is the TrustedInstaller, go figure.

Any clue how I can modify the file? or run as the trustedinstaller?  I can't find trustedinstaller as a user or group on the system.  Administrator does not have permission to edit it.

You need to take ownership of the file first, then you can modify the
    permissions on the file.

You're welcome John. Administrators can do pretty much anything they want
to do, sometimes it just takes a little while to figure out how to do so.
