Polycom video conferencing RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a multi international company currently piloting ocs. The next part of their pilot is to deploy Roundtable in their HQ. However on all of there other remote sites they have Polycom video conferencing. They would like to be able to hold conferences using a polycom in one site and roundtable on the HQ site. Therefore integrating both systems.

Has anybody integrated these already, ist there any whitepapers on this.?

    Thanks

  • We had SIP enabled on our endpoints a couple of years ago and could talk to OC 2005 users without a problem but the connections seemed fairly unstable. Sorry, I do not remember exactly how we set up the Polycom's other than enabling SIP.

We curreently use OC 2005 & 2007 to talk to our endpoints (multi-party) using Polycom's MGC-50 which integrates very well.

  • depends on the versions of Polycom devices.
HDX RMX will be able to interop with OCS, with latest firmware.
For older units, they can interop with OCS, through RMX.
The level of interopability will evolve over time.
Currently, you can make a P2P call between MOC and Polycom units, within corp net, with security disabled.
Soon, you will be able to make a P2P and AVMCU call betweem MOC and Polycom units (HDX and RMX), across firewall, with encryption.
