  • Your Gateway Product Key for Windows XP is only valid with a Gateway motherboard.  Did you change the motherboard to a non-Gateway motherboard?

  • Hello Mariojarro,

Please provide a brief synopsis describing your customer scenario, including any dialogue, error messages, or codes. Error codes can be found in the lower left hand corner of most Genuine Advantage Web pages when an error is encountered.
Thank you for visiting the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program forum.

  • That product Key is Gateway's SLP Key. It is tied to the OEM ( Gateway ) Its not working, because you are running a non - GAteway mobo.  You must use the OEMBIOS.DAT and The SLP Key for your PC, and it must match the one in the BIOS SLIC tables.  If both mobos have a removable BIOS, you can switch them.  Otherwise, you must use the COA SLP KEy (on COA) and activate by telephone, and explain your situation to the representative.
