Getting Windows 7 Build 7601 error that Win 7 is not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had a number of BSODs over the last few days. I just tried running chkdsk and it stopped during step 2 and

my machine booted. Two attemmpts at a system restore ended in BSODs. I tried entering my product key

( I know it's good, I've already had to reinstall Win 7 once on this machine). The MGATool output is below:

My biggest fear is that after X number of reboots, MS will shut off the OS. If I can;t fix this then I at least need

the option of a planned and backed up reinstall.

    Thanks

  • the problems you describe would not be caused by a not genuine windows. you can reinstall it on the same computer as many times as you like. phone activation maybe required at some point.

    as to your report:

    License Status: Notification
Notification Reason: 0xC004F009 (grace time expired).

windows must be activated within 30 days of install. you will have to activate by phone.

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) Click Start, and in the Search box type: slui.exe 4

    2) Next press the 'ENTER' key

    3) Select your 'Country' from the list.

    4) Choose the 'Phone Activation' option.

    5) Stay on the phone (do not respond to any of the automated prompts) and wait for a person to help you with activation.

    6) Explain your issue clearly to the support person.
