  • Question

  • Accessing the server over the internet does only work from certain systems.
But every system finds the right IP after the ping of the domain.
What could cause this randomly allowing systems to the server?

  • Most likely firewall or other security settings on the systems or the network the systems are connected to.

What brubber is saying is that if it works from some locations but not others, the "others" probably have some security in place that blocks outgoing traffic to either specific ports and/or specific domain names (which is fairly common in a workplace).  In that case, there is really nothing you can do (short of talking to someone in the IT department and explain your situation to them and see if they can change the policy, but that is highly unlikely to happen).
