  • Regrettably, the installed copy of Windows XP installed on the computer is counterfeit and non-genuine. Contact the ebay seller and try to get a refund. From your MGA report:

    Validation Status: Invalid Product Key

  • Hello Pierre Forgues,

If you purchased what look like genuine materials from the eBay seller and you are unsuccessful getting your money back from the seller or eBay/PayPal, you may qualify for free replacements from Microsoft.

Go to www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Windows button.  When Windows fails validation, you will be taken to web pages with an explanation and with several solutions.  Look for the link to the Complimentary Replacement program and read the information to see if your materials qualify for replacement.  If so, send the materials to Microsoft for consideration.

Post back to let us know how you do.
