  • Did you first uninstall One Care through add/remove programs or programs and features? You can try restarting the computer and running the cleanup tool again. If uninstall fails again you can contact support for help. How to reach support - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/30400b52-7f26-4ba0-bc18-17e305329d90

  • attempted to uninstall through control panel add/remove and it hangs up early in the process. progress bar just sits in same position. then download and attempted to run one care clean up with the same result, ie it hangs. a number of automatic services are shut down. thought that it had virus but ran malwarebytes in safe mode and it says no. windows live one care service is shut down and will not restart as a number of other programs also will not start.

  • problems go beyond uninstalling one care. one care appears to be uninstalled but then windows came up and said that it was not genuine. downloaded wga and attempted to run it but it appeared to not complete. reboot came back with that warning gone. internet explorer will not load a page. starts but pulls blank page, ie no dns error, just blank. windows update will not load. ms security essentials will not install. starts but goes nowhere.

firefox will work but ie won't. what is the deal with .net update?

  • I'm locking this thread. Please refer to this one:

If your reason for uninstalling OneCare was not that it had stopped working and caused network problems and programs hung or not loading or closing, then please contact support for help.
