    Guys again there is a sudden change in the ranks. My rank went down to 4 and its back to 3rd now

    I am also bit confuse abt the Ranks, when points were updated... I jumped to 8 from 9... then with same points jumped to 7, and now again to 9 with same points... even there are mistakes in total

    This is the place you can see all the participants and that too in the rank wise order... Now i don think i need to explain about how to see top 10, infact you can see top any number...

    Sudden change in ranks are due to addition of marks of submitted whitepapers.....

    @Raghuram - I suggest you to change your forum display name as the one that you are given in the User profile of the rockstar website. This will allow the admin to track your forum activities, and also if you are in the top 100 or top 10, you will get points for the same.

    Any news from the Imagine 'Cup, I have a feeling that it is creating all the differences...

    You have a point Varun. But lets see this way.
    How much points will a winner of Imagine cup get in total ?

    Imagine Cup - Registration Activity 200
    Imagine Cup - India Finals 2000
    Imagine Cup - World Finals 2000

    I assume that its 2000 points for wining the world final, cause there is no mention about how much points will the world winner get.

    Now if he is that much intelligent, he night have participated in MSAPP also

    Academic Project Program - Registration Activity 200
    Academic Project Program - India Finals 1000
    Academic Project Program - Winner 2000



    If a person gets all the above points, he would have become a GURU, also he would have got bonus points  around average of 32%+ more

    That makes about 10000 points (Rounded).

    That would make a lot of difference in the rank fluctuations.

    Now thatz another problem, as most of the registered contestants are not active in the forums, We are very limited with the information.. Around 50 or 60 of us are active here and there are more than 3000 registered contestants in the contest.....

    I think they should have made it compulsory to take part in the forums

    Best was to allow us a mail or message box where we could communicate with the contestants who are not in the forums...

    I guess if a person who has got first rank in IC, would be in forums, and he would have posted something about the same. But as we dont see any such info, we can assume that there is no one who has got full points for the IC.

    Now back to the topic, If there is no one who got full points from the IC, then why are the ranks changing Stick out tongue

    We have discussed one point which could have affected the ranks, but that was a fail. If anyone have any other idea, please post, so that we can try to discuss about it .

    I dont know why the database is showing wrong results. Its not inconsistent, but its showing wrong results.

    @Anoop, in your User profile what rank is being shown ? I have checked the search results, it shows Rank 1, but let us know whats being shown in your user profile. and whether thats right or not.

    Well, the problem is solved i think... its not showing the wrong result at the searched query,, but now its not showing any result sometime.. but i tried for varun in search, 1st there was some Varun Ranjan who was also showing at the 1st location.. now it is not their, but i tried for Aleem and Anoop, but its not giving any output for them... its going back to the main page only...

    today, there's a sudden fall in  my rank down 6 places without any change in the points... how does this happen...

    alteast someone has hacked thru the database...

    There could be two possibilities.

    May be some of them  misused some events to get fraud points OR
    the admins might have added the points for them for those whose updation in points was still pending, or may be some correction.

    @Jabed -  The reason has been found.

    The discrepancy was caused during uploading points of one of the offline activities. The admins have corrected the Points & Ranks for all the affected students.

    Now one question arises. If the admins added the points for the offline activities. May be thats why the total points that is shown in the UserProfile page is more than the total of the individual points for all the activities. So that difference could be the points for the offline activities.

    Now if this is true, then my total is being shown 292 more. That means that i have got around 200 + %Level (GURU) points for the offline activities.I don't know any offline activity that i have attended.

    What are the offline activities, is still a mystery.

    Its m8, its really good to hear that the admins have acted promptly. I guess there is one person who is still complaining about his poitns for the forum and whitepapers not being updated, and he is Fredrik. I dont know why only he is facing a problem, but i think the admins will rectify that soon.
