What about the 'pirate' that sold me the 'puter! RRS feed

  • Question

  • Needless to say I have been inundated with "non-genuine' info regarding my Windows XP OS.

I bought my tower new (customised just for me!). It already had XP on it but no cd. Same as my laptop. I was told by the store I bought the lappie from that it is all done this way now - no cd- and that if the system crashes, I can go online and get the OS. DUH! If the b***** sytem crashes, I wont have internet to go on line!

Anyway - now I am expected to fork out over A$250 for the 'priviledge' of owning a 'genuine' XP OS. I fully expected that the one running on my 'puter right now was the real deal! AFter all I didn't purchase from the local newspaper or backyard shonky!

A$780 for a tower and a bill from Microsoft to boot!

Guess it is just my damn lucky day!

You can report that reseller here at www.howtotell.com so we can take legal action.

  • Suhlies,

If you were billed for a genuine Windows XP operating system and did not receive it, have you confronted the merchant?  Have you filed a small claims court complaint?
