OCS and Communicator 2007 R2 Alert issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just migrated to OCS from LCS and are now using the upgraded OC client.  Issue is that the client does not blink on the start bar when receiving a new message or when added content is entered in the conversation.  Seems like a minor issue but without the visual notification it can be challenging to know you have either a new message or added content.  We do receive an audible notification but we work in a loud environment and the blinking is the preferred method of notification.  The client has limited customization - is there anything that can be done?  Should it blink?  We are mostly a Vista Business desktop and have published the OCS application through XenApp 5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • The OCS client does still flash the window button in the taskbar on XP and Vista in the same way that previous version do.  If the conversation window is the active window, then it's not flashed in the taskbar, but if it's minimized or hidden behind another application window then it should still flash.
