This project uses features that are not supported for editing in Project Web App RRS feed

  • Question

  •  Hi all. I am trying to edit tasks using Microsoft Project Web App. I'm trying to edit tasks on ms project web, but this error message appears: "This project uses features that are not supported for editing in Project Web App. This project contains tasks with task calendars."

How do you think I can do to edit fields in ms project web?

    Thanks

  • In PWA, task calendars cannot be used, and project plans created in Project Professional 2010 that contain task calendars are available as Read-Only. You can refer to http://www.microsoft.com/project/en-us/web-based-project-management-comparison.aspx .

    Thanks,

  • The ability to have different calendars for different tasks has been around so long I can't even remember.  Why on earth would Microsoft promote a web-based capability that becomes disabled if you choose to use a client capability that has been around for decades?

We are finally rolling out an instantiation of Project Server where we plan on leveraging the ability for Project Managers to edit the status of their schedules via PWA.  This "feature" of PWA really screws us up because we have task-level calendars all over the place.  This is going to have huge ripple effects for us in terms of our macros that manage our use of SharePoint deliverables as well as schedule policy, in general.  Ugh!

The question may have been "answered", but for the record, this is something that Microsoft needs to fix, IMHO.  I am not a happy camper today.
