Windows 7 not genuine error

Question
-
I have recently encountered a not genuine error on my windows 7 Home Premium edition. I know that I have a valid OEM product which has been activated for over a year. I have tried using system restore but it gives an error when restarting and does not restore to the previous point.
I have run sfc/ scannow which also failed.
The CBS.log contains the following error 4 time:

Hello martinetlr,
Unfortunately, another poster disrupted the flow of the thread by piggybacking his issue in your thread. From experience this usually caused the thread to die. If you are still experiencing your Non-Genuine issue, I recommend creating a new thread and re-post your description of the issue and a current Diagnostic Report (a "Do Over", if you will).
Thank you,

Don’t worry about that for the moment – I don’t think it has any bearing on the non-genuine issue. It looks to me as if your Licensing Store is corrupted.....Recreate the Licensing Store
1) Click Start button.
2) Type: CMD.exe into the 'Search programs and files' field
3) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select Run as Administrator
4) Type: net stop sppsvc (It may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
Note: the Software Protection service may not be running, this is ok.
5) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
6) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
7) Type: cd %windir%\system32
8) Type: net start sppsvc
9) Type: slui.exe
10) After a couple of seconds Windows Activation dialog will appear. You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key or Activation may occur automatically.
Run MGADiag again, and post the report, together with details of any error messages encountered.

Decided that the issue was too complex and used the nuclear option. Reloaded Win 7 and problem is gone (hopefully for good). Only lost some data that I missed in my backups.
Problem solved for now.
