Is there a "Mark All Threads As Read" option somewhere? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'd like to be abled to mark all threads in a forums as "read" at some points. In fact, it seems to me that the latest update/upgrade actually reset some "read" status values, because the list I get in "Unread" in the Live Mesh forums used to be empty (like early last week), and now it shows some messages from back in May. And I know I'd read those messages.

Currently, my Unread list has 5+ pages, and that's wrong. I'd like to be able to mark the entire forum as read at this point, and then hopefully it will work properly from that point. But I can't find that option. Is it there somewhere? If not, I'd suggest that as an enhancement for a future release.

  • Mark As Read has been requested a few times and it's definitely something we're looking at adding. We're also thinking about adding a few canned Date Range filters, New In: "Last 24 hours", "Last 7 Days"... which could be used in combination to provide similar functionality as in "Unread" AND "New in Last 7 Days".

In last weeks update, we fixed a part of the Unread Query piece which wasn't doing things quite right. So it could be that some of those older threads that should've shown up before (with unread applied) are finally showing up correctly. Let us know if you continue to experience unexpected behavior with Unread.

Ah - interesting point. I hadn't considered that the earlier behavior could be the incorrect results. I'm slogging through the responses that show up. I'll eventually catch up...
