Outlook locks up

  I use Tasks in Outlook 2007 to managage IT service requests. I will copy part or all of an e-mail message into a Task, but often when I do this, Outlook will completely lock up - not only Outlook, but the whole PC is unusable for 5-6 minutes. I just tried to copy a single sentence from an e-mail message into a Task and everything locked-up. After several minutes, I had to kill Outlook in Task Manager. The sentence I copied came from another user in our domain, and the text was not unusual (it was wasn't a stationery or non-standard font). Also, I wasn't running any other programs at the time. What is happening or what can I be doing differently?
