I'm installing an Enterprise Edition of Dynamics CRM 4.0 on client system.

{The following errors occurred while attempting to register your copy of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

The wizard requires an internet connection to complete registration.  If you cannot connect to the Internet now, contact Microsoft Customer support to complete the registration. To do this, locate a computer that does have an Internet connection and visit the following Microsoft Web site for a list of Microsoft Customer Support options by region http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52443

    Thank you.

  • ** Many thanks to Tiaan van Niekerk, who supplied me the tool, I have now resolved my problem. **

My client had an ISA server and wouldn't allow anonymous connections through the ISA server, which the registration wizard tried to send.

To help anyone who is in the same poition as I was, I have written some information regarding the manual registration tool below:

    1) Get hold of the tool. It was supplied to me as 1 zip file containing 2 files:
       setup.exe
       Microsoft Dynamics CRM Registration Tool.msi

    2) Install the tool on the server where the problem lies.

    3) Ensure you have previously tried to run the normal registration wizard, so that the registration values are stored into the CRM database. When it fails, choose 'register later.'

    4) Run the tool (CRMREG.exe) which is listed in the start menu as 'Microsoft Dyncamics Registration Tool' (yes that is a typo on purpose!)

    5) There is one button for 'Connect to CRM' and another for 'Register CRM'

    6) If you try to run the tool again, the second button says 'Re-Register CRM'

I hope this information helps someone else. If you find this useful, please 'Vote as helpful' next to Tiaan van Niekerk's name instead of me as he helped me out big time!

    Kind regards
    Daniel

  • Great tool.  None of the KB articles applied to my instance of this problem.  The tool worked great.

  • Allow Anonymous Authentication of CRM web server under the IIS settings.

Then try again to restart the Registration Wizard.

    Hope it will helps you.

    Thanks,

    Kumar.
