turn off Mcafee

ok so I installed onecare it said I needed to delete the Mcafee program no big deal I said to self I never renewed it anyways. My problem is I cant seem to turn off mcafee so I can delete it any help is greatly appreciated

Try uninstalling McAfee using add/remove programs first. Then run the McAfee removal tool - http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=5535&lc=1033&partner=10005&type=TS

I have tried to turn off McAfee by using add/ remove programs but it will not let me as I get a message saying that "LEGACY" must be removed first.. There is nothing else there in add or remove program file . I have the download tool in there as well, but it will not work
