Answered by:
windows activation requested after repair

Question
-
Hi, after my laptop crashed and failed to even boot up Windows, I had it repaired.
It was fine for about 48 hours, then I started getting requests to validate Windows 7 despite it being a legal, OEM copy installed by the manufacturer. I read through all the posts relating to this on the forums and it seems the only solution even remotely relevant to me is to run the MGA diagnostic tool and copy the results here. As someone who purchased a genuine Windows product I'd hate to think I'd have to pay anywhere from £60 - £200 simply to use something I already paid for!
Here are the diagnostics, hope this can get me sorted out...

I see you also changed the Product Key to the one on your COA sticker :) - good!
Please activate in the normal way -
Click on the Start button.
in the Search box, type SLUI and hit the Enter key, follow the instructions (if any) - the system should attempt Internet Activation.
If that fails, use telephone activation, and speak to an operator.

YOu're actually in the wrong forum - but I'll see if I can get someone to move the post.
Whoever repaired your machine used an ACER disk for the reinstall - and the machine is complaining about being unlcensed as a result.
You should take it back and demand that they do a proper job - or refund at least part of the bill.
Having said that, let's see what we can do.
Please download and install the WAT Update, KB971033 from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033
reboot, and then visit www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate - it should pass, and you'll be offered MSE and IE9 (don't take up the offer yet!).
Then run another MGADiag report and post the result

Ok, done all that, it said my copy of Windows was genuine (as expected!) so here's the MGADiag report:
