All, I have Consolidated Edge Server (Access, Web,A/V) topology installed in the DMZ. The OCS Front End and Mediation servers are installed inside the network.
For any internal OC user the outbound call goes through fine to the PSTN world via Gateway.
But for the same OC user from a remote location (becomes a remote user) the outbound call fails. The phone rings - that tells the SIP message is flowing..But the media doesn't get connected...What could be the problem when the user is remote.
Can someone tell me the flow of SIP and RTP stream in this case?
Yes it is publicly routable IP. The Consolidated Edge Server has 2 nics one internal and one external. The external is publicly routable without NATing.
The Video call works. So I am wondering something has to do with Mediation server to the remote user communication. The remote user is behind a NAT router.
Atlast figured this out. My remote user should not be behind a NAT router or the router should support full port forwarding with unrestricted two way communication. I initially saw the error "cannot process routing destination". Basically the Mediation server through Edge is not able to route or connect the RTP to the remote user computer. So configured my router and things are looking good.
