Having an OEM SLP is not, in itself, a bad thing.

All OEM SLP key are "blacklisted" because, by design, they can not be used to Active by Phone or over the internet. This is because OEM SLP keys can only Activate when they see an OEM Bios Flag in the motherboard of the computer and the only time a Motherboard would have a Bios Flag is if it was in a computer that was sold by a Large Manufacturer with Windows pre-installed.

The OEM SLP key will see the Bios Flag and self-activate.

OEM SLP key (and OEM Bios Flags) Only come windows that come pre-installed from a large computer manufacturer.

All computers that come pre-installed with a OEM SLP keyed Windows also come with a COA Sticker the sticker has a different product key called a COA SLP key.  The purpose of this key is as a Backup to the OEM SLP key.  Sometimes the interaction between OEM Bios ____ and the OEM SLP key is interupted and Windows will not self-activate.  In this case, the user needs to change product keys to the COA SLP key and then Activate by Phone.

Please Note: There are Hacks avaliable on the internet (and also sometime sold included in a computer or as a standalone DVD) called OEM Bios Hacks.  These hacks make Windows Think there is a OEM Bios Flag in the computer's motherboard when there isn't one.  This type of hack combined with an OEM SLP key will make Windows self-activate thereby avoiding the need to Activate using a Valid Product key.  Microsoft recently released an Update that makes Windows 7 ignore around 70+ Activation Hacks (including some OEM Bios Hacks)

Dutchboy54:  Regarding your specific issue. Your Diagnostic Report is unclear if the issue is being caused by a disconnect between the OEM SLP key and a Valid Bios Flag or if the recent Microsoft Update has caused some sort of OEM Bios Hack to cease working.

either way, your first step is to attempt to change the product key being used in Windows 7 to the COA SLP key found on the sticker on the computer (confirm that the sticker says the key is, in fact, for Windows 7).

If you have problems doing that, if may be a problem with Windows Licensing system or it could be the computer, itself, is counterfeit and the sticker just has a bunch of randon digites instead of a valid COA SLP key.  In either case, the next step is to create a (no cost) support request at http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactwga  They can check your COA SLP key to ensure it is Valid and if it is, they can help you get Windows changed over to that COA SLP key.

    Thank you,

  • The key that was installed on your computer was blacklisted, and you have a blocked vlk key for your office. You will need to obtain genuine keys for both. You will have to uninstall Office and reinstall a legitimate version, and you may have to do a clean install on your OS depending on how that key was installed. Many times when you buy a computer second hand or purchase software online it can come with an exploit even if you were told it was genuine, buyer beware.

Anyway, you can follow the links from within the activation messages or from the www.microsoft.com/genuine to explore avenues to fix both problems.

I have both COA's for the office and the os.  I need to purchase again.  This does not sound right.  This is robbery.  Maybe one would have to go Mac.

  • The key is blacklisted, if you have COA's with different keys then try reactivating with the keys you know are genuine.

As for you office, it has a blocked VLK according to the diag report, Don't shoot the messenger.

Unfortunately, the Windows 7 installation media and product key can only be used on a Dell computer having a proprietary Dell motherboard..  You do not have a Dell computer.  Your MGA Report shows that you have an Intel motherboard which, of course, was not manufactured by Dell.  You need to contact the seller of your copy of Windows 7 and demand a 100% refund.

In addition, your copy of Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 is non-genuine.   Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 is a Volume License version sold primarily to large business entities and the minimum purchase requirement is for five (5) licenses. The legal owner of this Volume License has contacted Microsoft to report the license as lost, stolen or misused. Consequeuntly, the license can no longer be used as it is blocked.  Contact the seller from whom you purchased the software and demand a refund.

When purchasing software, you should only purchase "retail" versions from companies that are trustworthy and have a proven track record, such as the Microsoft Store.
Avoid purchasing software from auction web sites or web sites whose only form of contact is an email address.

  • Nothing either of us said disputed that. I didn't think we were supposed to discuss bios modding and grub loaders in detail. As for COA that gets a little confusing for some people, when you buy retail packaging it is supposed to contain a COA, a COA is supposed to come with any version of windows unless you buy it online from a valid vendor. COA used to mean certificate of authenticity but we talk now like it is the key on the bottom side of only OEM computers.

THey should just call the certificate of authenticity the COA. They can call the the sticker on the bottom of a PC the CYA key (for COver Your.....well never mind)

Also, I took the blacklisted Lenevo and Dell keys to be the only blacklisted ones, the rest of the SLP keys are valid but only for SLP installations from a valid SLP licensed OEM.

    http://news.softpedia.com/news/Microsoft-Kills-Windows-7-RTM-Crack-Blacklists-OEM-SLP-Master-Product-Key-118081.shtml

Are you saying that it is possible to see legitimately activated computers using the first Lenevo Key.

  • I decided to go with a mac o/s instead.  works great with this pc.  It was definately error free and no hassle as advertised.  Snow Leopard is and appears solid.  I have worked with computers as a specialist since 1974 and the past 25 years with pc's and all I have ever seen is windows acting up and crashing.  I would think that since windows came into the computer world that they would have been producing a better product than something that bothers people and makes people look like thiefs.  Thanks for your attempts but I think that Mac is the right way to go.  Microsoft had many chances and keep screwing up with its customers.

Mac OS works great with your PC with the intel motherboard and the dell slic? Will the blocked VLK on office work with OSX? I want a dell mac with an intel motherboard too, where did you get it?

  • So your pirated copy of Windows 7 Ultimate would not activate and you decided to now install a pirated Appled O/S, is that correct? So you ended up with an illegal Hackintosh?

  • Hello Dutchboy54,

Please refer to the Software Licensing Terms (SLT) that you agreed to when you, uh, "purchased" your Mac Snow Leopard Operating System.

It says that it is a violation of the SLTs to install the Mac OS onto any hardware not manufactured by Apple.

  • Are you saying that it is possible to see legitimately activated computers using the first Lenevo Key.

No, My understanding is that the Lenovo key 22TKD-*****-YG69F-9M66D-PMJBM (sometimes refered to as the "22TKD" key) was found to be leaked Before it was used in any computers. So was never shipped in a computers to any customers.  In otherwords (as Carey pointed out to me while I was being too much of a Blockhead to listen):

You will never find a Genuine copy of Windows using that Lenovo key

This user's key (X92GV-V7DCV-P4K27) is not the Lenovo so could conceivably be found in being used in a Genuine copy of Windows.

  • I built the system myself.  Mac's are now using intel components and Mac indicated that snowleapord is fine to use on my system.  I loaded it with no problems except the network onboard so I added an older card and now it functions fine.  I like some of these people who respond on this site and make accusations about piracy but I have the original coa's and it was all fine until the 1033 update.  Then all heck broke loose.  I have had this problem a while back so I finally made the decision to switch to the mac os.  I called all the software companies I had software with and they allowed me to download the mac versions which I found very nice.  My music studio works even more perfect with the mac os and wondered why I never did this earlier.  Again yes the mac os works well and I have no dell affiliation with this system.  I just carried over the coa to my new system and like I said worked fine since I got the win7 until the other day.  Too bad for Microsoft.

  • Hello Dutchboy54,

From the OS X Software License Agreement at http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/macosx106.pdf:

"2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.
    A. Single Use License. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, unless you have purchased a Family Pack or Upgrade license for the Apple Software,
you are granted a limited non-exclusive license to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer at a time. You agree not to install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-branded computer, or to enable others to do so. This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple
    computers at the same time."

  • You haven't a clue what your talking about.

    http://www.intel.com/Products/Desktop/Motherboards/DQ35JO/DQ35JO-overview.htm
    SLIC   DELL    QA09
    *****-*****-X92GV-V7DCV-P4K27

Those three items alone say enough. I really don't care personaly but if you are going to insult people who try to answer then you leave little choice other than pointing out the inconsistencies. You have an intel mobo with a dell slic and a dell key on a computer you said you built yourself.

    Now for office.

Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 103 Blocked VLK

That pretty much sums it up.

Now, when windows is installed you get 30 days to activate and then there are times that a rearm may be required and typicaly an install has 3 rearms. However there are attempted hacks to bypass this and I just have to ask if some attempt on your part did not lead to this line in the report.

    Remaining Windows rearm count: 4

Now, you started this thread by intentionally misspelling Darin's name then denigrating everyone who answered your questions. I don't care what you did to your computer or how you tried to circumvent activation. I do care about the fact that you made factually inaccurate assertions and insulted the people who tried to help you even after noting the repeated attempts to hack activation. No one accused you, they just tried to help you.

The only way you are going to fix that installation is to do a clean install, I suggest you do it with a legitimate key instead of trying to use 3 or 4 activation exploits on top of one another.

Why would you even come to this site when you already know what you tried to do to your computer, then insult the people who are trying to help you regardless of the fact that it is obvious how you messed up your computer.

One last note, snow leopard will not run on a PC, if you actually got it to run then you have a hackintosh.

  • If you read the Description of the update for Windows Activation Technologies, you would clearly understand what happened.  As far as your statement "Too bad for Microsoft", they did not sell you a license for Windows 7 Ultimate nor for Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007.  The licenses you acquired are both 100% bogus!  If you take the time to examine the installation media you have, I'm willing to bet it does not look at all like the genuine holographic media that comes with a genuine Microsoft license.  See: How to Tell.
