My system shows Installed Physical Memory of 6.00 GB, but Total Physical Memory at 2.00 GB. I do have 6GB installed. Why the discrepancy?
The Javascript running the MSDN forum is using the other 4.0 GB :-).
Actually, you are in the wrong forum. If you are using Vista, you might ask in Microsoft Answers.

Nice of you to answer here, David, but it only encourages people to post more questions to this forum that don't belong here.
That's why I just tell them they are in the wrong forum and tell them to ask in the "What forum is for ?" forum where they ought to post.

Mike, it's Sunday. Lighten up :-).
Besides, I did not give the OP the (real) answer, even though I think I know it. I told him/her to look in Microsoft Answers.
Unless you think my answer could be the correct one...
Or is it you pulling my leg?
