Server 2008 R2 (X64) Shadow Copies being deleted by system RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

    Server:

    HP ML 350 G6

    Server 200 R2 ( X64)

    Problem:

    I went to restore a file from Shadow Copies a few days ago, and there were not any previous versions available. When digging through the event logs I found;

    Log Name:      System

    Source:        volsnap

    Date:          4/20/2011 7:14:35 PM

    Event ID:      25

    Task Category: None

    Level:         Error

    Keywords:      Classic

    User:          N/A

    Computer:      APTFILE02.aptinc.corp

    Description:

    The shadow copies of volume D: were deleted because the shadow copy storage could not grow in time.  Consider reducing the IO load on the system or choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied.

    Event Xml:

    </EventData>

    </Event>

    Previous Versions have been restored, but only since new passes.
    Since 1/10/10, this error has been logged 4 times. It is identical each time.
