Vista Business OEM - Validation issues

Question
-
OK here's my story
Vista Business OEM on a Dell laptop purchased a few months ago, direct from factory, installed Office 2003 and software for a 3G card. It was working fine until a few days ago, where it kept blue screening etc.
So after a bit of investigation I thought I would reinstall, from the Business Vista DVD that came with the laptop ( or so I thought ). That in itself raised problems, but when I finally got it going, it said it was not validated. After reading some threads, trying a few things, and now up to my fourth reinstall, I am getting all sorts of error codes come up. I have now found that the licence key that it says that it has is NOT the licence key that is on the bottom of the laptop, so I tried to use that one, but it says that it is already in use. I am also getting all sort of other errors saying that the EULA stops responding, that the RPC service has stopped, when it clearly says it is on. I can't even get to system properties now, or run the slui. I am most frustrated!!
I did manage to get the diagnostic report, which is below. As you can see from that, the last 12 digits of the alleged licence key is NOT what is on the bottom of my laptop.
I need assistance, and I need it quick!

Sounds like your BIOS from Dell is malfunctioning and not allowing your install media to activate with the built-in key. You'll need to change the product key to the one on the bottom of you laptop by following these steps.
1) Open an elevated Command Prompt (right-click on Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator...")
2) Enter (no quotes) "slmgr -ipk <the key on the bottom of your laptop>"
3) Enter (no quotes) "slui 4" --> That'll start the phone activation process. The automated system will tell you it failed which is expected. You'll then be given the option to speak with a support agent who can issue you the CID to finish the phone activation process.
Thanks!

Would you try the following:
Click on the blue "Change product key" link in the Windows activation section of your System Properties panel. You can access the System Properties panel by right-clicking on Computer in the Start menu and choosing Properties. Enter your product key when prompted to do so, and press Next.
Please post any error codes you are getting and please also post the error code you get (if any) when you validate by clicking "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine The error code will be gray and in brackets at the end of the message on the page that says validation failed. (It'll look something like this: [0xC004C000]).
Thank you!

i have already tried that, as I said, I get a message saying the product key is already in use.
I'll ring up and see if I can get that fixed. Until then, thanks for nothing Microsoft. The worst validation system ever .
